It sounds like a worthwhile program. I’ve been reading a lot of blogs of teachers whooriginally are from the states but now teach in Asian countries and they seem to enjoy it.
The only issue I’ve come across is that the Asian children think that the depiction they see of American’s on tv (ie: everyone is tall, blonde, thin with blue eyes and acts like Paris Hilton) is true.
So when they seem American’s of other races or who do not act like what they see on TV, they get confused.

Student teacher bond should be in a professional manner only. Mentoring, coaching, teaching, and learning are all parts of this professional bond or relationship. I am not saying there is not other types involved, such as “teacher pet”, teacher crushes, affairs, etc., but these are not proper bonds between student and teacher, and student teachers.
