What sort of insurance, and what information are you concerned about being revealed and to whom? Also, where are you? UK or US?

Technically, yes, you can sue them… but it depends on what type of personal information you’re talking about. Some information might be public information that people feel should be private… but just because you feel that it should be private, doesn’t mean it is.
I’m just saying this because I wanted my address and phone number taken off of those “find your friends today” type sites but was told that it was public information. Meaning, if I request that it be taken off, they can do that, but if I move and/or get a new number… the new address and new number will pop up again and I’d have to call and ask them to take if off of their website.
Unless the release of private info has hurt you in some way, there is very little chance that you’d win the case.
